Mr.Enam Ahmed Chaudhury is a well-known person in the field of administration, diplomacy, and political leadership in Bangladesh. He is also an author and columnist of eminence. He studied Economics, Law, and International Relations at Dhaka University and Magdalen College, Oxford University, United Kingdom. He joined the civil service of Pakistan in 1960 and continued in the Bangladesh civil service holding positions like Secretary to the Agricultural Development Corporation, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Head of the Export Promotion Bureau( EPB), Member of the Planning Commission, Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh in Ministries of Planning, Commerce, Shipping and External Resource Division (ERD). He also held Diplomatic assignments like Economic Minister, Bangladesh High Commission in London. He served the United Nations as Secretary of the Commission ( UN-ESCAP) in Bangkok and was elected President of the International Maritime Organization( IMO), in London. He was also Vice President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He was Chairman/ Managing Director of Union Capital Limited, Bangladesh in the private sector.
